What is Leadership

Leadership is a very complex concept that can be interpreted various ways. Leaders are people that stand out compared to your everyday person. They help achieve goals in the most efficient way possible. Leaders should have traits such as creativity, integrity, and accountability. The leader should be informed about his people. He should also put them before himself. Leadership is when someone is able to guide others and set examples. This is just an example of how leadership can be interpreted.

I used to think that being creative isn’t always easy. Creativity is one of many essential traits a leader should have. They should be able to find external solutions for problems. Thinking “outside the box” allows for more solutions to one problem. Finding the most efficient solution is what a leader should do. Not everyone will agree on a solution for a problem. Finding the “silver lining” between many sides to a problem is difficult. This is why being creative is important when leading.

Integrity is another trait leaders should have. What integrity really means is the quality if being honest and having strong moral principals. Integrity ensures that the leaders actions are made for the people. Being selfless also goes along the lines of integrity. In other words your actions may not be in your best interest. But you have to do what is right. I have always believed that morals play an important role in leadership.

You would think that a leader should take responsibility for their actions. That is why accountability is also important. Common sense seems to dictate that everyone should be responsible for their own action. That is why leaders should not blame others for their mistakes. A leader’s burden is the responsibility of their subjects’ progress and development.

Setting the right example for their subjects is what leaders should do. I have always believed that leadership is the ability to guide people and help them grow. Leaders should follow the concept of what is leadership to develop societies. Leaders should have traits such as creativity, integrity, and accountability. This is how I intemperate what leadership is.
